The Dragon Within: Confronting our Fears

We all have things that make us uncomfortable or even afraid.  These represent the "DRAGONS" in our lives.  We will never rid ourselves of these "DRAGONS" unless we identify and confront them.

So.............
What are some of your fears and insecurities?

  1. Some thing that really bothers me is meeting the bigger kids in the halls when I'm by myself. They bother the smaller kids and tease us.

I'm afraid of meeting new people also.

  2. I am insecure about my height because people always refer to me as that tall girl. Also the boys I like are usually shorter than me. That makes me feel shy and awkward around people I don't really know.

  3. I'm afraid to admit when I don't understand something in class. I am afraid that my friends would think I am dumb. I used to be afraid of the dark when I was younger.

  5. Bullies scare me. My mom keep telling me not to fight but I have to defend myself sometimes and then I get in trouble with my teacher.

  8. I TOTALLY used to be araid of giving the wrong answer in class, for fear of being laughed at and/or teased by my classmates. You, Ms. Marshall's class, are very lucky now! Now you understand that all have the same fears, so now when you participate no one will make fun of you because your whole class will understand that at least you are trying!!:) Definitely talk to an adult about th e exact bullying situation where you need to defend yourself. THAT sistuation is MUCH worse than getting in trouble with your mother or teacher. We are here to help you and maybe can come up with a solution for you that doesn't involve physically fighting back! :) About the height thing...My husband and I are NIcole Kidman and Tom Cruise when we go out and I have heels on...Use THEM as example when you like a cute shorter boy! ;) Strange and/or new situations/places/people definitely bring anxiety to everyone! So embrace your new opportunity and take advantage of it instead of being shy :) It could open up new relationships and opportunities for you!
